We hold the three ecumenical creeds and the Lutheran Confessions to be faithful expressions of God’s truth revealed to us in the Bible.

Lutherans hold to three main teachings:

1) Grace Alone. We believe that people are by nature sinful. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. God reached out into the world to save us through Christ Jesus purely because he loves us! (Ephesians 2:9 -- It is by grace you have been saved!) 

2) Faith Alone. We believe that no amount of good works can save us. The only way to salvation is by faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus in our place. (Romans 1:16-17 -- For in the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last!)

3) Scripture Alone. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are inspired and inerrant Word of God. They are the only rule for doctrine and practice. No human reason, no personal experience, and no church tradition has authority over the clear words of Scripture. (2 Timothy 3:16 -- All Scripture is God-breathed.) 

We believe that the reason that God gave us his Word is not to build a better world or to make us more prosperous people. He gave us his Word to save us from our sins. (John 20:31 -- These things are written that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, and that by believing we may have life in his name.) 

Along with Christians of all time, we confess:

• There is one God, who has revealed himself in the Bible as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• The entire Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God.
• God created the entire world and humanity.
• All people are conceived and born in sin, commit sin throughout their entire lives, and therefore are under God's condemnation.
• God sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to be the Savior of all people.  Jesus lived a perfect life for us and paid for the sins of the entire world with his innocent death on the cross.
• God raised Jesus from the dead.
• By faith in Jesus as our Savior we have the forgiveness of all sins and a sure hope of eternal life in heaven.
• At the end of the world, Jesus will return, taking all who have faith in him  to live with him forever.
